Project Description:
SCC is a 291,000 sq. ft. critical facility that has a 43,500 sq. ft. super computer room and over 60,000 sq. ft. of mechanical/electrical support. SCC houses the worlds’ largest and most powerful super computer and also serves as the main hub providing all cooling for computer systems at Los Alamos National Labs.SCC infrastructure upgraded included piping and installing a back up 1,200 ton chiller and 1,200 ton cooling tower which provides chilled water for cooling to entire supercomputer facility. Installed four each 18,000 cfm fan coil units to support building out of basement at the SCC facility. It was critical and imperative that all existing systems be kept online during construction as not to interrupt cooling service to the super computer.
